About Us
"What began as two friends with shared interests gradually became a partnership built on trust, complementary strengths, and a shared belief that there had to be a better way to care for animals."
We are two autistic adults whose lived experience shapes how we understand care, safety, and trust. From an early age, we learned what it feels like to be misunderstood, rushed, or expected to perform in ways that didn’t feel natural. We also learned how damaging it can be when distress is misread as defiance, stubbornness, or failure. These experiences fundamentally changed how we see animals.

Our journey began on an alpaca farm, where we learned just how much an animal’s experiences can shape their behaviour. We learned that every alpaca communicates differently. Behaviours such as anxiety, withdrawal, or reactivity are often an expression of their individual experiences and not because they were “difficult”. They were communicating in the only ways they knew how.
Rather than viewing these behaviours as a problem to fix, we became passionate about understanding what the animals were communicating and finding ways to support them.
These experiences shaped the way we view animal care today. We believe that taking the time to understand an animal’s individual needs, emotions, and communication style is the foundation for building trust.
What we were witnessing wasn’t bad behaviour; it was miscommunication.
This realisation sparked a major shift in our perspective. Our work became about more than just animals; it became about the human-animal connection, and how misunderstanding and pressure can break trust on both sides.
Being autistic has made us deeply attentive to non-verbal signals. It has taught us to slow down, question assumptions, and understand that compliance is not the same as consent or wellbeing . These insights guide both how we handle animals and how we support the people caring for them.

Our deep passion for alpaca means we notice the tiny details others often miss. For us, communicating with animals often feels more intuitive than communicating with people, and turning this “special interest” into a career was a natural step.
Alongside our lived experience, we bring strong professional foundations: we hold advanced extended diplomas in Animal Management and have over a decade of combined hands-on alpaca farming experience. Caring for our own herd allows us to continually refine our approach in real, everyday practice. It's been incredibly rewarding, and now we want to help others achieve the same success.
One of our favourite moments so far was discovering that our most anxious alpaca, Violet, settles completely if you sing to her.
We pride ourselves on doing things a little differently - and sometimes that means looking a bit silly if it helps an animal feel safe.
We can’t promise we’ll be in tune or remember all the lyrics, but you might catch us belting out High School Musical and dancing like no one’s watching - as long as it keeps her calm.
